Communal appellation producing solid and robust Bourgogne red wines with a good ageing potential, in the classic Côte de Nuits style. It is an excellent value for money. Morey-Saint-Denis is a small village entangled in 2 famous appellations : Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. Two of the village's grands crus, as well as a first growth, are ancient wall-enclosed monasteries, typical of the Bourgogne region : Clos de Tart, Clos Saint-Denis and Clos de la Bussière. Other grands crus are Clos de la Roche, Clos des Lambrays and part of Bonnes-Mares.
Main grape varieties : Pinot noir.
Soils : Limestone and clay-limestone.
Style of wines :
The majority are excellent and advanced wines with great style, with a rich nose of strawberry, violette and truffle. Depending on their origin, they are either virile like Gevrey-Chambertin wines or delicate like Chambolles wines.
Morey-Saint-Denis appellation. Excellent preservation.
