Prestigious appellation of 250 ha, with vineyards located south of the Corton moutain, producing great Bourgogne wines, including 14 first growths such as Clos des Maréchaudes, Fournières and Valozières.
Three grands crus, Corton-charlemagne, Charlemagne and Corton, are produced in Aloxe-corton, Ladoix-Serrigny and Pernand-Vergelesses. The produced wines stand out for their high quality and are all very different thanks their great terroir diversity.
Main grape varieties : Pinot noir for red wines ; chardonnay for white wines.
Style of wines : Red wines : exceptional ageing potential, long-keeping. Very tannic and aromatic wines with a strong taste of terroir in their youth, developping notes of fruits and spices with age.
White wines : long-keeping. Spiced and mineral bouquet for these wines which include some of the best white wines in the world ; developping aromas of hazelnut and spices with age.
