In Bourgogne, Bordeaux, Pomerol or any other french region, 1952 was very successful for all vineyards.
Despite quite strict weather conditions, every french region produced wines of admirable quality : Bordeaux suffered from a suffocating heatwave but still managed to produce a somptuous wine, though only in limited amount. In Graves, the grapes matured a bit later due to the drought. In Champagne, the april frost destroyed almost half of the vineyard.
In Bourgogne, the late harvest was rewarded with a production of ample red wines with character as well as an excellent ageing potential.
1952 was very successful in producing uniform, well-rounded red wines. This year stands out with its extraordinary maturity, supple tannins and dark color.
The 1952 successes are so plentiful that it is impossible to name them all. Here are a few : Cheval Blanc, Angélus, Petrus, La Conseillante, Hermitage, Margaux and so many others.
These are excellent wines to help you celebrate your most important events.
Haut-Médoc appellation. Exceptional Grand Cru. Bottled at the Château.
Chevalier-Montrachet appellation. Rare wine. Great Bourgogne wine.
