1923 was a slightly difficult year although very successful for Bourgogne wines.
In Bordeaux, 1923 was a good vintage but aged too quickly and did not live up to expectations. The syrupy wines came out average and quite weak. Sauternes wines are slightly superior in quality.
Bourgogne endured a cold and damp spring followed by a dry and hot summer with mild rainfalls in september. The harvest was small but of high quality, especially the red wines. The white wines are also quite nice but hard to find.
Bouches du Rhône suffered from another year of bad weather. Though the 1923 vintage is slightly better than the previous year.
