Armagnac is a wine brandy produced in the Gers, Landes and Lot-et-Garonne French departments, from Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blanche. Armagnac appellations depend on their geographic locations : bas-armagnac, armagnac ténarèze, haut-armagnac or armagnac blanc. They are produced from the distillation of dry white wines and even though Armagnac was first produced in the Middle Ages, its reputation only spread in the 17th and 18th centuries.
