Domaine de la Jarnasse, property of the Sabon family, is a renowned domaine producing great Châteauneuf-du-pape wines. In the late 19th century, the Sabon family acquired wine-growing lands which were developped and carried from generation to generation. The entire crop was vinified by the local cooperative winery. In 1973, Aimé Sabon decided to produce his own bottles and built an international reputation for his domaine. In 1991, his son Christophe successfully took over the 10 ha of Châteauneuf-du-pape vines and exploitations in Côtes-du-Rhône and Vin de Pays. Domaine de la Janasse produces complex wines with an excellent potential, resulting from the soil diversity and exposition of the vineyard, such as the wonderful Cuvée Prestige white wines, Châteauneuf-du-pape Cuvée Chaupin and old vines, and the highly-prized Cuvée XXL.
