Château Desmirail, property of the Lurton family, is a prestigious domaine producing great Margaux wines. The produced red wines, ranked as Third Growth in 1855, are composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon with added Cabernet franc and Merlot. They are fine, elegant wines, typical of this mythical appellation. The vines are ideally located in Cantenac and cultivated according to a sustainable and responsible agriculture. Château Desmirail is named after Jean Desmirail, owner of the estate in the 17th century. Many owners followed, including Mr Sipière, Martiale Michel, Robert Mendelsohn... Property of the Lurton family since 1981, the domaine is currently managed by Lucien's son Denis, who contributes to its international reputation.
