Château Giscours is a prestigious domaine producing great Margaux wines. The produced red wines, ranked as Third Growth in 1855, are composed of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot. Produced from ideally exposed vines planted in a sandy-gravel soil, they are dense and deep Bordeaux wines with flavors of liquorice and blackberry, and herbal notes of dried fig. Château Giscours' popularity is a result of the hard work of Nicolas and Pierre Tari in the 1950s, and of the Jelgersma family, famous dutch financiers.
