Château Lascombes is a prestigious domaine producing great Margaux wines, ranked as Second Growth in 1855. Worth just as much as any First Growth wine, they are composed of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. Historically, the estate was created in the 17th century and owned by the Lascombes family until the French Revolution. Many owners have then succeeded one another, including the Hue family, the Chaix d'Est-Ange family, Alexis Lichine and his investment group, and finally the Baff british group who entrusted the property's management to René Vannetelle, whose excellent work helped build this great Bordeaux wine's international reputation. Ancient wines from this domaine are very rare.
