Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is one of the most renowned, iconic and consistent wine from the Pauillac appellation. With vines located in Pauillac and Saint-Julien, they produce exceptionally long-keeping wines composed mostly of Merlot, which rival easily with their First Growth neighbors. The estate used to be owned by Pierre Mazure de Rauzan, who gave it to his daughter Thérèse when she married Baron Jacques de Pichon-longueville in 1700. In 1926, the vineyards were put together to create Pichon-Lalande.
In the late 1970s, the property built a reputation thanks to the remarkable work of the talented Mme de Lencquesaing, many investments were made by the castle such as the setup of a new vat, an ageing cellar and a beautiful tasting room.
