Mythical and world-famous appellations, sharing the majority of great white wines from Bourgogne and the world, among which are the exceptional Chevalier-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet and Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet grands crus. The Montrachet grand cru is produced from only 8 ha and rare are the landowners who own more than 1 ha, hence the rarity of this wine with a suave, penetrating and heady bouquet, tasted by only a handfull of privileged wine lovers.

Added to the grands crus and first growths, such as Les Pucelles, Les Caillerets, and En Remilly for white wines, Clos Pitoit, Morgeot and La Maltroye for red wines ; the two communes also produce red and white wines within the Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet village AOCs.

Main grape varieties : Pinot noir for red wines ; chardonnay for white wines.

Soils : Reddish marls, thin and pebbly soils on a limestone base.

Style of wines :

White wines : Excellent ageing potential, long-keeping for these great white wines, especially for Grands Crus. Rich and fresh wines, perfectly balanced between smoothness and acidity, best tasted after 10 years of age ; rich, heady bouquet with aromas of butter, gingerbread, hazelnut and dried fruits.

Red wines : powerful and tannic wines, excellent value for money, with aromas of red and black fruits.
