More info

Historic property located in Dordogne which first appeared in the 16th century, Château de la Fonvieille produces great syrupy wines from the Monbazillac appellation, famous for being the most important producing appellation in the world regarding this type of wine. Considered as the most famous wine from this region, the Monbazillac white wines are of a light straw-color when young but become darker with age, like great Sauternes wines such as Château d'Yquem, Château Climens or Château Rieussec. Long-ageing wine, the 1939 Château de la Fonvieille « Réserve de Theulet » is a rare wine and a nice alternative to syrupy Bordeaux wines, a collection wine from lovers of ancient Crus.
