Soft drink with a high alcoholic level and often fruit, herb or plant flavoured, this liquor is generally reserved for the end of a meal. History tells us that french monk and doctor Kermann, who lived in Brazil at the time of Louis XVI's reign, was very fond of the country and its inhabitants and so decided to create a number of plant-based formulas to fight fevers and repel diseases. Once back in France after the Revolution, he kept producing these elixirs and rare eaux-de-vie in Bordeaux, which he distributed for free to his patients. Father Kermann died at 109 years old and left all his secrets to a friend from Bordeaux who he met in Brazil. Later, the Cazanove distillery marketed these elixirs and eaux-de-vie. Ancient bottle presumably from the 1950s, the Liqueur n°2 Kermann from the Cazanove distillery is a rare alcohol which will delight lovers of prestigious liquors and make an original gift.
