The 1971 Château Léoville Las Cases is a Bordeaux red wine from the Saint-Julien appellation.
Among the oldest properties in the Médoc and formerly attached to Château Léoville Barton and Château Léoville Poyferré as a single domaine, Château Léoville Las Cases now spreads over 97 ha of vines divided between Le Grand Clos (60 ha neighbor to the famous First Growth Château Latour), Clos du Marquis (20 ha, wrongly considered as the domaine's second wine) and the rest in southwest Saint-Julien. Composed mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon with added Merlot, Cabernet franc and Petit Verdot, the Léoville Las Cases wines are among the most sought-after of the appellation.
Great vintaged wine, the 1971 Château Léoville Las Cases will delight lovers of ancient Bordeaux and make a special anniversary wine.
