The first growth 1987 Volnay « En Champans » from Domaine Monthelie-Douhairet is a red Bourgogne wine produced in Côte d'Or from pinot noir.
Considered as some of the most feminine red Bourgogne wines, the Volnay vines are cultivated on a 206 ha vineyard with 118 ha in First Growth, including the famous Les Caillerets and Les Chênes. Fine and elegant, they are the true ambassadors of the Bourgogne viticulture.
Founded more than 300 years ago by Mr and Mrs Monthelie, Domaine Monthelie-Douhairet-Porcheret is a symbol of excellence in Bourgogne, partly thanks to André Porcheret. Manager of the Hospices de Beaune, he was asked by Mme Lalou Bize Leroy to convert Domaine de la Romanée Conti to biodynamy. He applied his knowledge to the 6.5-ha family domaine which is now managed by Cataldina and Vincent.
Great Bourgogne wine from 1987, this first growth Volnay « En Champans » from Domaine Monthelie-Douhairet is a fine wine which will delight lovers of rare wines and make a perfect wine-themed gift.
