The Santenay appellation has a total of 378 ha of vines in the south of Beaune, with 12 First Growth wines out of 124 of those hectares, including the famous Beauregard and Clos des Mouches. The Santenay AOC produces long-ageing wines which are often compared to renowned wines like Volnay and Pommard. The 1990 Santenay Labouré-Roi is a high-quality matured Bourgogne.
