Exceptional appellation with 21 Grands Crus Classés from 1855, including the mythical First Growth Château Margaux. Its vineyard, located in the middle of meadows and woods, benefits from a set of conditions which are favorable to a good grape maturation (soils, excellent natural drainage, closeness of the Gironde estuary..) and the production of rare and exceptional wines. It spreads over 1410 ha and produces 78 000 hl of red wines, except for Château Margaux's Pavillon Blanc.

Main grape varieties : Cabernet-sauvignon (mostly), merlot, cabernet franc, malbec, petit verdot.

Soils : Gravel mounds

Style of wines : Dense ruby color with nuances of garnet red for more matured wines. Very delicate and complex nose with fine aromas of red and black fruits, flowers ; woody, truffled and roasted notes of vanilla, tobacco, violette, cinnamon and prunes, evolving into fragrances of undergrowth and mushrooms for more ancient wines. In the mouth, harmonious and ample with delicate and flavorful tannins for a harmonious and elegant finish, which live up to these extraordinary Bordeaux wines.
