After an exceptional 1985 vintage, 1986 took over with very nice wines, quantitavely and qualitatively.
The 1986 vintage was particularly successful and produced exceptional and extremely powerful wines with an incredible ageing potential.
Good weather conditions helped to produce this perfect vintage. In Bordeaux, red wines are rich, tannic and ready to last many years while keeping an exceptional taste : 1986 Château Margaux, Mouton Rothschild, Léoville Las Cases and Lafite Rothschild are legendary.
Bourgogne produced a quality red wine, except for Côte de Nuits which was affected by heavy rainfalls in september. Red wines were sorted out in order to avoid a bitter taste, but they remain of average quality, especially compared to white wines.
Rhône produced a rather mediocre vintage while Champagne provided us with decent bottles.
To celebrate important events, we offer a selection of the most prestigious 1986 bottles : De Fargues, Château Yquem, Forts de Latour or Château Coutet will delight your guests.
