The 1970 vintage is one of the best. Combining quality and quantity, the 1970 wines are flavorful with excellent ageing potentials.

In Bordeaux, 1970 is without a doubt the best vintage since 1961 thanks to great weather conditions. The quality is excellent and the harvest is plentiful across all appellations.

In Sauternes, the lack of humidity slowed the botrytis’ development down. The wines are however soft and simple.

In Bourgogne, we noticed an overproduction of red and white wines, leading to very nice wines, though light with a limited ageing potential.

The Loire and Rhône valleys produced a reliable 1970 vintage. Champagne, however, reached the performance record of the 20th century : 13.800 kg per hectar.

We have selected some of the most successful wines from 1970. In order to celebrate your most important events, opt for one of these excellent bottles : Latour, Palmer, Petrus, Lafite Rothschild, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Montrose, Cahors, Talbot, Magnum Château Poujeaux or Château Vieux Chevrol.
