1926 was a very successful year for winemakers, producing a very fine vintage. Au droit de bouchon has selected a wide range of wines for your greatest pleasure.

 

In Bordeaux, with mild temperatures and heavy rain, the vintage’s quality relied on the autumn rain. The red wines produced from merlot are well-rounded, flavorful, fine and powerful with a beautiful color. The syrupy white wines are very successful, especially from Château La Tour Blanche, Château d’Yquem…

 

In Bourgogne, the summer was dry and hot which promoted healthy, mature grapes but in small quantities. The vines produced full-bodied, edgy and firm wines, perfect for ageing.

 

Champagne produced the finest effervescent white wines, famous world-round. These 1926 wines are high quality, syrupy and very harmonious. Vallée du Rhône, however, produced very average wines.
