The wines from 1941 represent a very rare vintage, despite being a very difficult year for all french regions.
In Bordeaux, the 1941 vintage was overall very successful but with a heatwave in june and a cold and rainy month of august, every Châteaux did not manage to produce fine wine. The red wines, however, are full of character and some of them, such as Château Haut-Brion, stand out with a well-balanced and fruity taste.
Rhône and Bourgogne did not get luckier, the 1941 vintage is famous for being a difficult one. The rain persisted from august to late october.
Champagne also suffered from difficult weather conditions : the constant september rain damaged the crop and most winemakers could not avoid the uncontrollable rot.
Getting an excellent 1941 bottle for an important event such as a wedding anniversary is a great idea. We recommend the Château Brion, best 1941 wine, Château Franc Laporte or Château Margaux.
